Thousands of youngsters, who have just enrolled at university, marched from the Red Square down to Gorki Park, following the Moskwa like in the song written by the Scorpions. This yearly event is called the "Parade of Moscow's students" and is held on the first saturday in September, on the occassion of the "Day of Knowledge" (on 1st September)
Nonetheless, a strange atomsphere covered this so-called "demonstration". After passing three police road block and a metall detector just to reach the starting point and waiting there for nearly three hours until the event started, everything was very "organised", despite of an amount of military along the streets I have never seen before.
